If you're looking for an evening gown - or wedding gown - just a little bit out of the oridinary, take a close look at this lovely strapless gown! Unfortunately, my photos do not capture the the coloring or the detail of the gold brocade bodice, so if you like the pictures, you're sure to be very happy with the gown! The bodice is fitted with boning in the front, back and side seams. The boning gives the bodice a nice smooth, tailored fit. To further enhance the fit, there is a very tiny band of elastic around the top of the bodice on the inside - very detail oriented! As previously mentioned, the bodice is a goldtone brocade material accented with four buttons down the center front. The buttons are decorative only and decorative they are - the buttons are domed and clear, but rimmed with sparkling rhinestones around the outer edge (see Detail View). The bodice extends past the natural waistline to the hips, where a flowing ivory chiffon and crepe skirt begin. The skirt falls to the floor and moves with you - very flattering indeed. The gown has a center back zipper and is in very good condition. There are a few very small pull; however due to the material design, they are not noticeable, nor do they detract from wearing the gown. The gown is a size 10 and measures approximately: bustline=34" and waistline=36".

Pink Southern Belle Style

If feeling like a Southern belle is your goal, take a look at this lovely Gunne Sax gown. The gown done in a pink pattern on pattern design. It features a low, rounded neckline which may be worn off the shoulders (one of the elastic straps needs tightening). Two layers of white lace encircle the neckline of the gown almost covering the short, capped sleeves. A material tie is attached to the top of each shoulder. These ties may be tied in a bow adding another element of detailing. The bodice is fitted and ends at the natural waistline, with a "V" at the center front. A wide material tie belt attaches to the side seams and ties at the center back. The skirt portion of the gown is done in a double layer. The top layer is edged in white lace and has two (2) vertical gathers in the front - one on each side. This pulls the lace a bit higher, revealing the underskirt which in this case is the same material. The gown is lined with an attached crinoline and center back zipper. The length of the gown is approximately 48" (shoulder to hemline) which brings it to approximately mid-calf length. The gown has a label which reads, "Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock". It is a size 9 and measures approximately: bustline=34" and waistline=27". The gown is in very good condition and all I see that it needs it the adjustment of the elastic in the shoulder. An added crinoline would give the skirt added fullness, if desired.

Ivory Gown W/Ivory Embroidery
This gown is so sweet. It is a bit off white in color and is created with two (2) layers - a fine net over dress and an off while underdress. The gown features a square neckline which is rimmed with a scalloped scroll trim. This trim not only encirlces the neckline, but it is also used around the sleeves, along the sleeve edge, around the waistline and along the scalloped hemline. The front of the bodice is decorated with a floral embroidered design. A dainty trim encirlces the waistline, with the scrolled edge a few inches below. The sleeves are long and sheer. They are also accented with an embroidered design along the outer arm and end with the delicate trim. The skirt portion of the gown is cut in an a-line. The gown looks great when worn at either floor length or ballerina length. The lower portion of the skirt continues with the embroidered theme. The embroidered area begins just below the knee. The hemline of the net layer of the gown is scalled, allowing the underlayer to "peek" out. The underlayer has a slit at each side seam. A touch of embroidery accents the front corners of the underlayer adding another "touch of elegance.". The gown does not have any closures - it slips over the head, but does have a material tie belt which ties in the back. This gown is available in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Ivory/Peach Gown/Ribbon Rosettes

What a lovely gown! This dress is so light and airy and perfect for a spring or summer wedding - whether it be in a garden, cruise ship or church! The dress is done in two layers - a cream overlay with a pale peach lining or underdress. The dress has a rounded "V" neckline and sheer "fan" sleeves. A small material ruffle encircles the neckline and tiny peach and white ribbon rosettes are scattered over the front bodice, shoulders and sleeves. The dress is very slimming with four vertical seams (two in the front and two in the back). There is not a defined waistline, so the dress flows like a sheath. The skirt portion of the dress is nicely accented with a large material rosette from which a ribbon trim encircles the skirt. The horizontal ribbon gradually drops as it approaches the side seams and then stays level through the back. Small peach and white ribbon rosettes are grouped around the larger rosette and then scattered through the bottom portion of the skirt. The overlay has two veritcal slits - one begins at the material rosette and continues to the hemline and the other begins at the ribbon trim and also continues to the hemline. An additional feature to make this dress extra-special is the hemline. One side of the hemline falls to the floor and trails as you walk! The dress does not have a closure and slips over the head. Ivory Gown W/Rosette Accents

If you are looking for a gown that is beautifully detailed, yet simple in design, look no further! This lovely ivory colored gown is done in two layers - a sheer ivory overlay and a flesh colored lining. The gown features a squared neckline created by wide shoulder straps and a horizontal cut bodice. A large material rosette decorates each shoulder strap and a sheer ruffle accents the cut of the neckline. The gown has a slightly raised waistline in the front and a wide horizontal band created with triple tiered pleating. The band has a scalloped effect as you will see in the photos. Two wide vertical bands begin at the horizontal band and fall down each side of the front of the gown. The band is caught up at approximately thigh level with a grouping of three (3) large material rosettes, then continues and is caught up again with rosettes where it ends - just above the wide ruffle at the lower edge of the skirt. Western Style Ivory Dress

If your taste tends to run toward a western look or you just like ruffles, take a closer look at this dress. The bodice begins with a modifed sweetheart neckline which drops to a "V" at the center front. The dress is done in two layers - a sheer white net overlay with a white underslip. The bodice is beautifully decorated with white soutache trim. The trim has an art deco feel to it - with swirls and lines combined throughout. There is no defined waistline, but the trim gives the feel of a slightly raised waistline. The sleeves are long and sheer. They are also decorated with trim and end with a "tulip" edge at the wrist. The skirt is slightly a-lined and is also decorated with trim; however, the trim in this area is done in vertical lines with scrolling along the lower portion of the skirt. The vertical lines create a very slimming look. Along with the scrolling trim along the lower portion of the skirt, there are four (4) areas of ruffles - one on each side in the front and one on each side in the back. The ruffles add and unexpected element to the dress and also aids in walking! The dress is a Size 1X and measures approximately 42-38-46. This gown is a new reproduction.

1960's Mint Green
Dress/Jacket
If you're looking for the perfect 1960's dress/coat combination,
look closely at this set. The mint green dress is simple in design
with a small stand-up collar. The collar is nicely decorated with
white beads, sequins and trim. The dress is sleeveless and is fitted
through the bodice. The skirt is straight and the dress is fully
lined. Two side pockets and a material belt complete the dress. The
matching jacket has a rounded neckline and is heavily beaded around
the neckline and in a "V" shape down the front. The jacket features
long sleeves and is cut in a shorter style. The dress/jacket
ensemble is typical of the 1960's. Add a pair of gloves and a small
pillbox hat and you're ready to go. Both pieces are in very good
condition and very well made. The label reads, "David's, Fort
Lauderdale, FLA" The dress measures: bustline=33"; waistline=24";
neck to waistline length=15 1/2"; waistline to hemline length=21".
The jacket measures approximately 13 1/2" shoulder to shoulder width
and 17 inches in length.

1960's Vintage Dress
W/Beading

The detailing on this dress is lovely! The dress is yellow - not quite as bright as my photos portray, but closer to the Detail Views. The neckline is a bit unusual - it begins as somewhat of a boat style neckline; however, the front portion of the neckline is raised - immediately calling attention to the beautiful beading! The raised portion of the neckline begins a vertical "panel" which runs through the center front of the dress. White and goldtone beading encircles the neckline to the shoulder seams. This beading then continues vertically along one side of the panel to the hemline. A large goldtone beaded starburst begins in the upper corner of the panel and streams across the bustline. Be sure to view the Detail Views of the beading. The sleeves are long and straight. The dress has a center back zipper, is fully lined and has a fitted look to it. The material looks like raw silk or linen. There are not labels or size information, but the dress is a generous size. It measures approximately: bustline=42"; shoulder to shoulder width=15 1/2"; waistline=34"; hips=44" and length=38". The dress is in very good condition and very wearable - great for the mother-of-the-bride or a guest at a vintage wedding!
